Special Program for the Participation of Retired Professors (PROPAP)
The Special Program for the Participation of Retired Professors of the Federal University of Ceará (PROPAP) was established by Resolution No. 18/CEPE, dated July 30, 1996, with the aim of promoting the academic reintegration of highly qualified retired faculty members, valuing their experience and contribution to research, graduate teaching, and outreach activities.
Through PROPAP, retired professors of the Federal University of Ceará (UFC) holding Master’s, Doctoral, Habilitation (Livre-Docente), or Professor Emeritus titles, and with relevant scientific, technical, or cultural output, may engage in various academic activities. These include teaching courses in stricto sensu and lato sensu graduate programs, supervising monographs, dissertations, and theses, participating in examination boards and evaluation committees, developing and coordinating research and outreach projects, as well as leading research groups and specialization and extension courses.
Participation in PROPAP does not establish an employment relationship nor direct remuneration by the UFC, being considered an academic honor. Participating professors are guaranteed the same working infrastructure conditions as regular University faculty. Currently, the PPGSP/UFC includes professors affiliated with PROPAP: Jorg Heukelbach, Lígia Regina Franco Sansigolo Kerr, Raquel Maria Rigotto, Ricardo José Soares Pontes, Terezinha do Menino Jesus Silva Leitão, and Maria Vaudelice Mota. Their work has significantly contributed to strengthening graduate education, scientific production, and the institutional memory of Collective Health, reaffirming the Program’s commitment to academic excellence and social impact.
